Ruth had failed her driving test twice and, with an out-of-state move coming up, was seriously considering walking away from the process entirely.
I encouraged her to try one more time. If she waited and moved, she'd likely have to restart from scratch in a new state — different rules, different process, possibly greater challenges. She had nothing to lose by trying again here first.
She found a test date just before her permit was set to expire. On the way to the DMV we ran a quick simulation. By the time she arrived, she was calm and clear on what to do.
Third attempt — she passed.
Ruth now has her California license, which means she can drive legally anywhere in the US. Congratulations, Ruth. Glad you didn't give up.
