SUCCESS STORY

Her permit expired a year ago. She restarted from scratch and passed.

February 2026 · Kizy, Hawthorne

About a year before her test, Kizy first reached out. Circumstances got in the way and she wasn't able to take the road test in time. Her permit expired.

Many people would have stopped there. She didn't.

She restarted the entire process — studied for the written test using the Portuguese study materials I provide, passed on the first try, scheduled the road test, and contacted me again.

The day before her driving test, we met at the Hawthorne DMV for a full mock test — same vocabulary as the examiners use, all possible routes from that location, correction of every mistake.

On test day we arrived an hour early to read the conditions. Several garbage trucks were working through the neighborhood — something worth knowing going in. The bigger challenge turned out to be the wait: a different window, a long line, nearly an hour's delay before starting.

She stayed focused through all of it. And she passed.

Congratulations, Kizy — not just for passing, but for the persistence it took to get there.
