Ewerton arrived in Los Angeles recently and already had plenty of driving experience. On his first test at the Glendale DMV, the examiner failed him for driving too slowly — classifying it as a dangerous maneuver.
The rule is straightforward: you shouldn't drive 10 or more miles per hour below the posted speed limit without a clear reason. On Glenoaks Boulevard in Glendale, the limit is 40 MPH. Driving at 30 or below — without cause — is considered an infraction.
Personally, I don't consider that a failure-worthy error in most circumstances. But the examiner's decision is final, and every candidate always has another opportunity.
On his second attempt, Ewerton drew a different examiner and passed with only 2 errors.
Congratulations, Ewerton — and good luck in this new chapter.
